Adriapol Institute and Marin Barleti Institute on Research and Development organized the 2nd International Forum on Smart City

On the 6th and 7th of November 2015, Adriapol Institute and Marin Barleti Institute on Research and Development organized the 2nd International Forum on Smart City. During these two days, the forum brought together international and local experts from both public and private sectors to discuss initiatives and successful implementations of smart city concepts. City leaders shared their recent progress and experiences towards smart city development.
The forum welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Mario Tozzi, an important Italian journalist, television personality, an author, as well as a geologist and science writer.
Presentation and discussions were followed by several local and international city leaders and important country actors.
Mr. Erion Veliaj, Municipality of Tirana, Mayor. In his speech Mr. Veliaj highlighted the importance of smart technologies in the process of developing the cities. He took advantage of the forum theme to introduce a smart application that the Municipality of Tirana had recently developed, known as Tirana Ime app.
Mrs. Odeta Barbullushi, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania. In her speech, Mrs. Barbullushi congratulated the initiative of the organizers, stressing that such forums are very important for researchers and policy makers in one country. Further, she discussed some of her ideas about the concept of Smart Governance and the possibilities of integrating our country in it.

Mr. Amedeo Bottaro, Municipality of Trani, Italy, Mayor. Mr. Bottaro mentioned that smart city does not extend only to the digital technologies: it pushes to reflect on territorial structures and processes of the physical transformation of the city.
